Don, originally from Hawthorne, NJ, met his wife Gail as single missionaries in Kenya where they served with Africa Inland Mission for 23 years. They and their two children stayed at MRF for a year of home assignment in 1996 and, following their return to Kenya, received an invitation from the Missionary Retreat Fellowship board of directors to consider replacing the retiring director and his wife. Understanding the critical need for missionary housing, and with AIM’s approval, the Lord led them to accept the call and they assumed responsibilities in 2000. Gail went home to be with her Savior in 2018. Don continues to care for the MRF grounds as well as his responsibilities as director.
Brian, from Belle Fourche, SD, and Lisa from Waterford, VT, met at New Tribes Bible Institute in Waukesha, Wisconsin. After a few years in South Dakota, they left the States and were missionaries in Lima, Peru, with Bible Centered Ministries International for four years. The Lord made it clear in 2012 that they were to move on from Peru, but they were not sure where He would have them until Don contacted them about joining him and Gail at Missionary Retreat Fellowship. They came on board in 2013. Brian and Lisa take care of the maintenance and upkeep on the homes while continuing work with their mission board, BCM. They have three children, Elena, Joseph, and James.
